4.4.11. Error 403 on VPS with ISPmanager

By default, the root directory of the site is located at this path: /var/www/name_username/data/www/name_site/... Accordingly, the files should be located in a folder with the name of the site.

When accessing the site, the index file is opened very first, which is usually called index.html or index.php... This file must be located in the root directory of the site. It is worth checking if it has been deleted and if it is in the correct directory.

Note

Sometimes the index file may have a different name and location. The exact name of the file and its location should be checked with the site developer.

The owner of the files and directories of the site must be the user in whose directory the site is located. it NOT must be root.

You can check your rights in ISPmanager through the section “File manager → Attributes". Pay attention to the parameter “Recursively", With which you can apply settings to subdirectories and files, there is also a parameter"only change owner».

Note

It is recommended to set permissions to 640 on files and 750 on directories.
