2.8.3.1. Installing Composer

Note

Composer is available on hosting by default. It is not necessary to install it.

To install Composer to the root directory on FTP do the following:
  1. Change to root directory:
    cd ~
  2. Create the aliases required to run Composer through the console from any directory:
    echo "alias php='/usr/local/php56/bin/php'" >> ~/.bashrc
    echo "alias composer='php ~/composer.phar'" >> ~/.bashrc
    source ~/.bashrc

    You can view the list of current aliases with the command:

    alias -p
  3. Download Composer:
    curl -sS https://getcomposer.org/composer-1.phar --output composer.phar
To install Composer to the root directory on FTP do the following:

    echo "alias php='/usr/local/php56/bin/php'" >> ~/.bashrc
    echo "alias composer='php ~/composer.phar'" >> ~/.bashrc

  3. Download Composer:
    curl -sS https://getcomposer.org/installer | /usr/local/php56/bin/php -- --install-dir=/home/name_account

    Instead name_account substitute hosting account namewhere you are installing.
