Setting options for incoming mail

To configure Thunderbird 78 email client, do the following:
  1. From the main Thunderbird menu, click “Create a → Set up my mail account…»:
  2. Fill in the fields and click "Configure manually…»:
    • «Your name»- enter your name in any form.
    • «Email address mail"- specify mailbox name. Attention! If the domain name contains symbols of the national alphabet, for example, Cyrillic, the name of the box must be convert to Punycode.
    • «Password"- specify mailbox password.
    • «Remember password»- make sure that the checkbox is checked if you do not want to enter a password every time you connect to the server.
  3. Fill in the fields and click "Retest", and then "Done»:
    • «Protocol»:
      • Inbound - Make sure “IMAP».
      • Outgoing - always "SMTP».
    • «Server"- in both fields specify mail.adm.tools.
    • «Port »:
      • Incoming - specify 993.
      • Outgoing - specify 465.
    • «SSL"- in both fields select"SSL/TLS».
    • «Authentication"- in both fields select"Regular password».
    • «Username"- in both fields, specify the full mailbox name or part of it before @.
  4. In the main Thunderbird window, right-click on the added account and select “Options»:
  5. In section "Server parameters»Click«Additionally…»:
  6. In field "IMAP server directory»Specify INBOX. (with a dot) and press "OK»:
  7. Restart Thunderbird and test your mail.
To connect your Thunderbird 68 or older email client to mailbox do the following:
  1. In the main Thunderbird window, right-click on “Local folders"(Or any other mail account) and select"Options»:
  2. Click "Actions for an account"And select"Add mail account»:
  3. Fill in the fields and click "Continue»:
    • «Your name»- enter your name in any form.
    • «Email address mail"- specify mailbox name.
    • «Password"- specify mailbox password.
    • «Remember password»- make sure that the checkbox is checked if you do not want to enter a password every time you connect to the server.
  4. While searching for a configuration, click "Manual configuration»:
  5. Fill in the fields and click "Retest", and then "Done»:
    • Incoming:
      • Make sure the "IMAP».
      • «Server name"- specify mail.adm.tools.
      • «Port "- specify 993.
      • «SSL"- select"SSL/TLS».
      • «Authentication"- select"Regular password».
    • Outgoing:
      • «Server name"- specify mail.adm.tools.
      • «Port "- specify 465.
      • «SSL"- select"SSL/TLS».
      • «Authentication"- select"Regular password».
    • Username - enter full in both fields name mailbox or part of it before @.
  6. In the main Thunderbird window, right-click on the added account and select “Options»:
  7. In section "Server parameters" Make sure that "Authentication Method»Selected«Regular password", and press "Additionally…»:
  8. In field "IMAP server directory»Specify INBOX. (with a dot) and press "OK»:
  9. Restart Thunderbird and test your mail.
