2.6.2.3.2. Configuring an SFTP connection in WinSCP

The article describes the procedure for connecting to hosting by SFTP via FTP-client WinSCP.

Before connecting

Make sure the following requirements are met:

  • The IP from which the connection will be made has been added to the list of allowed in security settings SSH.
  • At least 15-30 minutes have passed since the IP was added to the allowed list.

To connect to the hosting via SFTP using WinSCP, do the following:

  1. Click "New connection»:
  2. Fill in the fields:
    • «Transmission protocol"- select"SFTP».
    • «Hostname"- specify the host from data to connect over SSH.
    • «Port"- specify the port 22.
    • «Username"- specify the login from data to connect over SSH.
    • «Password"- enter the password from data to connect over SSH.
  3. Click "Yet…»:
  4. In chapter "Wednesday"Opposite"UTF-8 encoding for file names»Select«On" and press "OK»:
