2.16.4. Ways to Increase Disk Space

You can increase the amount of disk space in the following ways:

  • If one of the entry-level tariffs is current, you can increase the amount of disk space by switching to a higher tariff. You can change the tariff using the appropriate instructions.
  • In situations where, for some reason, changing the tariff is not suitable, a tariff with the maximum amount of disk space is used or an increase in the limit is required inodes, can be purchased additional disk space.

Inode Is a file system object that contains information about a file or directory (each file or directory is 1 inode, regardless of their size). In accordance with terms of service the limit of inodes in all tariff plans for regular hosting is 200,000.

First of all, check if your hosting account has unnecessary files and directories that can be removed painlessly. Removing unnecessary files and directories will free up the inodes they are using. To determine which directory or site takes up the most space or inodes, you can use console commands or filemanager (using the button for displaying catalog sizes in the toolbar).

If deleting files and directories is not possible, you can increase the inode limit in the following ways:

  • Purchase additional disk space. Important! Changing the tariff within the framework of regular hosting will not help in this case.
  • Change tariff from regular hosting to one of the tariffs businesshosting... On business hosting, the inodes limit is limited only by the Linux file system (approximately 1 million inodes are available for every 16 GB of disk space).
