3.6.15. Setting up a domain for Zoho Mail

Zoho is an online service that provides its own mail service. For it to work correctly, you need to configure a domain - confirm it, direct it to Zoho MX records and create SPF and DKIM records.

To set up a domain for Zoho Mail, do the following:

  1. Login or create a Zoho account.
  2. Go to the app "Mail" in general list of applications:
  3. Select "Add your existing mail domain to Zoho and create an address based on that domain", Enter the verification code and click"Continue»:
  4. Enter the domain name and click “Add»:
  5. Check the specified data, select the manager DNS «Others …"And confirm the domain in one of the following ways:
  6. Add users and create groups if required.
  7. To start accepting messages to mailboxes hosted in the Zoho service, you need to change the MX records of the domain. Important: after changing MX records, letters will no longer arrive in mailboxeshosted on our hosting. Install MX records offered by the service. They will be displayed on the page as a table:
  8. Configure SPF and DKIM entries:
    1. Add SPF record with the following data:
      • «Subdomain"- if a subdomain was added to the Zoho service, then specify its name; if the service is planned to be used for the main domain, specify the symbol @.
      • «A type"- select"TXT».
      • «Data"- insert data from the field"TXT value». If you plan to send letters from our servers, then before ~all add text include:_spf.ukraine.com.ua.
    2. Create a DKIM entry:
      1. Click "Go to DKIM settings».
      2. Click on the edit button:
      3. Click "Add selector»:
      4. Add DKIM record with the following data:
        • «Subdomain"- use data from the field"TXT - node / name", Without a domain name. For example, the subdomain for the screenshot will be mail._domainkey. If a subdomain has been added to the Zoho service, then indicate its name at the end of the entry, for example, for the subdomain mail subdomain will look like mail._domainkey.mail.
        • «A type"- select"TXT».
        • «Data"- insert data from the field"TXT value».
      5. Wait for the update DNS cache... This usually takes several hours (maximum 24). Then click "Verify”Or check later.
  9. Make the rest of the service settings.

To verify a domain using a record TXT do the following:

  1. Select confirmation method "TXT"And copy the value from the"Meaning / Indicates / Purpose»:
  2. Add a new record with the following data:
    • «Subdomain"- if a subdomain was added, then indicate its name in this field, if the service is planned to be used for the main domain - indicate the symbol @.
    • «A type"- select"TXT».
    • «Data"- paste the copied data.
  3. Wait for the update DNS cache... This usually takes several hours (maximum 24). Then click "Confirm with TXT».

To verify a domain using a record CNAME do the following:

  1. Select confirmation method "CNAME"And use the values from the"Name/Host/Alias/CNAME"And"Meaning / Indicates / Purpose»:
  2. Add a new record with the following data:
    • «Subdomain"- specify the data copied from the field"Name/Host/Alias/CNAME».
    • «A type"- select"CNAME».
    • «Data"- paste the copied data from the field"Meaning / Indicates / Purpose».
  3. Wait for the update DNS cache... This usually takes several hours (maximum 24). Then click "Confirm with CNAME».

To verify a domain using a file HTML do the following:

  1. Select confirmation method "HTML»:
  2. Download the file marked under the first link.
  3. Upload the file to root directory your site. This can be done with filemanager or any FTPclient.
  4. Check the availability of the file at the second link marked in the screenshot.
  5. If the file is available, clickCheck with HTML».
