1.2.2.1. Enabling 2-Step Verification

Note

Telegram 2-Step Verification is automatically enabled when linking a Telegram account and if desired, it can be disabled.

To enable two-step authentication do the following via Telegram:

  1. Make sure your account has added Telegram account.
  2. Open the section "Personal data "And switch to the"Safety».
  3. In the block "2-step authentication"Near the method Telegram click "Enable»:

Attention!

For two-step authentication to work correctly through the authenticator app, the time set on the mobile device must exactly match the current server time. If it does not match, you need to go to the section "More → Settings → Time correction for codes"And click"Synchronize».

To enable two-step authentication through the authenticator app do the following:

  1. Open the section "Personal data "And switch to the"Safety».
  2. In the block "2-step authentication"Near the method Google Authenticator click "Enable»:
  3. Install the authenticator application on your mobile device:
  4. In the app, scan the QR code or manually enter the secret key below it:
  5. Enter the two-step verification code generated by the app and click “Confirm»:
