Free SSL Certificates from Let's Encrypt!
We are glad to announce some good news - our company has launched beta testing of SSL certificates from Lets Encrypt... Lets Encrypt is an automated Certificate Authority (CA) that provides free SSL certificates to anyone. The main goal of the Lets Encrypt project is to make the Internet as secure as possible by implementing the idea of a secure HTTPS connection with all sites in the world by default.
As you already know, for the site to work over the secure HTTPS protocol, its owner needed to buy an SSL certificate from any Centercertification (CA) for quite a lot of money, which was embarrassingmost of the site owners and this, in most cases, led toabandoning security in favor of reducing the cost of maintainingsite.
Now the financial side of the issue fades into the background, because certificates from Lets Encrypt are free. Our company followed the development of this initiative and now, when the project has moved to the status of public beta testing, we have joined it and starting from today we automaticallyfor all new sites we issue SSL certificates through the Let's Encrypt service!
Brief information on using an SSL certificate from Lets Encrypt.
An SSL certificate is issued by us automatically after we make sure that the site is directed to any of our servers (verification is required to verify the domain name). The whole procedure takes 3-4 hours after adding a site and registering a domain name.
Unfortunately, beta testing imposes some restrictions on the process:
- The letsencrypt API is not very stable and this process can take longer.
- For IDN domains, no certificates are issued yet (and it is not known whether there will be).
- For subdomains of one domain, no more than 5 certificates can be issuedduring the week.
- For the domains biz.ua, co.ua, pp.ua, the issuance of certificates is temporarily unavailable due to the current limits on the number of certificates.
If you decide to test Let's Encryptplease go to section SSL settings the corresponding site in the control panel https://adm.tools, and follow the instructions provided.
ATTENTION! For all new sites, Let's Encrypt certificates are issued automatically.
