This is done in order to minimize the risks when creating a backup. FTPbackup – this is a service provided by hosting. A certain amount of disk space is allocated for backup on another server, where information is copied. This is done for security reasons: so that in case of access to the site files and their editing (virus infection / hacking), the backup is not associated with the main server where the site files are stored.

The abbreviation HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive (computer hard disk). HDD backup – it is a method that allows you to copy information to a separate hard drive, for example, removable. CDP (Continuous Data Protection) stands for “continuous data protection”... The principle of its operation is as follows: software (CDP-agent) is installed on the server, which makes a primary copy of all data, splits them into blocks and transmits it to the CDP-backup server. Thus, the software fixes all the changes, and subsequently transfers to the backup server only what has been changed, with a notification of the change and indicating the data that has been changed. For example, if important files were touched that the user did not confirm, you do not need to write these data to the server. This significantly reduces the number of copies and makes more efficient use of disk space for copying.
Cloud server – it is a network of several dozen, perhaps hundreds, united into a common network of online storage servers. Such servers are called “cloud”... Cloud backup – this is placing a backup on one of the cloud storages. The most popular examples of cloud storage are DropBox, Google Drive, Comodo Online Backup.
